  2. Hypothesis: What is your testable explanation or proposed hypothetical relationship between your variables.
  3. Materials: List major equipment, all chemicals and materials used.
  4. Procedure:
    A. What major steps did you follow to investigate the problem?
    B. What factor (variable) did you alter in order to test your hypothesis?
    C. Describe your sample size and number of trials.
    D. What measurements did you take?
  5. Results of Experiment: Describe briefly the measurements you obtained from your experiments as well as the results of any mathematical calculations.
  6. Conclusion: Briefly describe the answer to your initial question based on the results you obtained in your experiments.

Judging and Payment

High school students (grades 9-12) have the opportunity to participate in the Intel International Science and Engineering Fair (Intel ISEF). All high school (9-12th grade) projects are eligible and ISEF candidates will be selected during the OCSEF competition. Please note that you must complete have all appropriate forms for ISEF available during the OCSEF competition. See the Society for Science and the Public for information regarding the Intel ISEF competition.

Junior Division Students (grades 6-8): Please select a preferred and alternate judging hour. We will attempt to accommodate your preferred judging hour but may be required to assign you your alternate choice. In the event that your preferred and alternate choices are filled, you will need to select a judging hour at project set-up. If your school arranges transportation and judging for the fair, we will change your judging hour to meet your school selection. You will be notified by email of your judging hour between 1 and 2 weeks after registrations closes. NOTE: If your project is a group project, consult with your partner(s) and agree on a preferred and alternate judging time. All partners need to be present during the hours you select to meet with the judges.

Senior Division Students (grades 9-12): You will be required to be on site at the competition from 9 AM to 4 PM for judging, so please select "Senior Division" from the drop-down menus below. The first round of judging will be from 9 AM to 12 Noon. All Senior Division Students are invited to eat lunch with other competitors and judges (lunch will be provided by the OCSEF). Semi-finalists for the OCSEF ISEF positions will be announced at approximately 1 PM, after which students not selected as semi-finalists may leave. The second round of judging will be from 1 PM to 4 PM (but may end earlier).
